Sarabel P. Schlintz

Sarabel P. Schlintz, 84, of Janesville passed away Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013 at Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center. Sarabel was born in Duluth, MN on May 28, 1928, the daughter of Richard Trezona Plummer and Eunice (Rogers) Plummer.  She grew up in Milwaukee.  She graduated from U W – Madison in 1950. Sarabel married Ralph A. Schlintz on September 23, 1950 and had been a Janesville resident since. Long active in civic affairs, she was past president of the Janesville chapter of A.A.U.W., had been active in the Black Hawk Garden Club, the PEO Sisterhood, the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, the Colonial Dames of America, the Early Janesville Restoration Society and a volunteer at Rotary Gardens. She and her husband were founding members of the Black Hawk Curling Club. Sarabel enjoyed cross country skiing, canoeing, gardening and knitting. She co-authored a book on needlepoint. She was a long-time member of Trinity Episcopal Church and had served on its Altar Guild.
Surviving are her husband, Ralph A. Schlintz, four children, Anne (Tom) Saxer of Seneca, WI, Jane (Lawrence) Marino of Portland, CT, Alan (Kathi) Schlintz of Las Vegas, NV, Amy (Sean) Loberg of Galena, IL, grandchildren, Lindsay (Ryan) Ellis-Karlin and their daughter, Olivia Karlin, G. Tom Ellis, Daniel Marino, Andrew Marino, Christopher Marino and Ross Marino, her sister, Ann (Bernard) Burger and her brother, Richard Trezona (Jody) Plummer.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, February 22, 2013 at Trinity Episcopal Church with The Rev. Robert Lebron officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church or the PEO Sisterhood. The family is being assisted by Henke-Clarson Funeral Home.
